Creating A Safer, Stronger Community for All
For too long, safety and stability in Tuskegee have felt like they’re just out of reach. From neglected streets to rising concerns about crime and public health, our neighborhoods have suffered under the weight of disinvestment and broken promises but it doesn’t have to be this way. Together, we can build a safer, healthier Tuskegee that everyone is proud to call home.
The Challenge We Face
Blight and neglect have crept into too many corners of our city. Vacant lots and abandoned buildings are more than just eyesores. They can become magnets for crime and a source of despair for families trying to build a better life. Without adequate resources, our police and first responders are stretched thin. And in some areas, even basic services like lighting, sanitation, and road maintenance have been ignored.
These problems didn’t happen overnight and they won’t be fixed overnight. But the time for excuses is over.
The Strength of Our Neighbourhoods
Even in the hardest-hit parts of Tuskegee, you’ll find people who care. Neighbours looking out for one another. Volunteers cleaning up parks. Churches and civic groups working to make a difference. This spirit of determination is what keeps our city alive and it’s what gives me hope that we can turn things around.
We owe it to the next generation to give them a city they can be proud of. A place where they feel safe walking to school, playing outside, and building their futures.
A Vision for Safer Streets and Stronger Communities
I believe that every resident deserves to feel safe and secure in their own home and neighbourhood. That’s why my vision for Tuskegee focuses on three priorities:
- Reinvesting in Our Infrastructure: Repairing streets, cleaning up abandoned properties, and improving lighting are the first steps to reclaiming our public spaces and deterring crime.
- Supporting Law Enforcement and Community Policing: We need to equip our police with the resources, training, and trust they need to keep our neighbourhoods safe while also building strong relationships with the people they serve.
- Engaging Our Youth: Too often, young people fall through the cracks. By creating more after-school programs, mentorship opportunities, and job pathways, we can keep kids off the streets and focused on positive futures.
Why It Matters
When we restore pride in our neighbourhoods, we do more than just reduce crime. We give people hope. Property values rise. Families stay together. Children grow up believing in their community and their own potential.
A safe, vibrant Tuskegee benefits everyone.
Moving Forward
We need a leader who sees every street and every family as worth fighting for and I promise to be that leader. Together, we can take back our neighbourhoods, restore pride in our city, and show the world what Tuskegee is truly capable of.
Tuskegee can be safe. Tuskegee can be strong. And Tuskegee’s best days are still ahead.
Let’s get to work.
